Friday

Meeting at MIA Airport at 6.15am to depart on  AirMalta  KM1482 which arrives in Catania  at 9am. Our  luxury coach which then will take us  to  Savoca, (about 40 mins away) in the province of Messina, which is a beautiful hillside village where we will explore the historical centre. We then leave for Castelmola, a typical village perched high on a hill just above Taormina, for a short visit, before continuing to Taormina (15 minutes journey). We explore the pedestrian area of this upmarket town, visit the shops and have lunch. One can also visit (entrance EUR 5) the famous Greek Theatre (Teatro Antico), with its magnificent views over the resort town of Giardini Naxos.

After lunch we go to Gole dell' Alcantara, where we admire the outstounding landscape of this gorge with its fascinating volcanic rock faces, with the icy waters flowing through this gorge. Departure to Monte Conca, which forms part of Mount Etna, a journey with beautiful scenery of the volcano, the lava rock and also the greenery and forestry and where we will also be able to see a very beautiful view stretching over to the Calabrian coast.

At Monte Conca, we meet Ciampino, who lives in the mountains, and who will guide those who feel adventurous enough on a short 30-minute donkey trekking tour (EUR 20, not included in price). A late afternoon transfer  (30 minutes scenic journey) takes us to our 4* hotel / agriturismo in the area of Randazzo. Check-in and assignment of rooms. Evening dinner at Hotel

 

Saturday

After Buffet Breakfast at our hotel / agriturismo, we set out to explore the beautiful Nebrodi mountains and the typical mountain villages, such as Santa Domenica Vittoria, Floresta, Ucria, Castell’ Umberto and Naso. We will stop at some of these villages for a stroll and some free time.

We arrive in the seaside town of Capo d’Orlando, in time for lunch, then depart for Tindari, with its spectacular church of Our Lady of Tindari, perched on a promontory overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean sealakes of Marinello, the straits of Messina and the Calabrian coast beyond. We will also be able to see a spectacular view of the Eolian islands of Vulcano and Lipari. After at Montalbano Elicona we visit the historical town centre, before returning to our hotel for dinner. After dinner, we visit Taormina by night.

 

Sunday

Buffet Breakfast at our hotel, before checking out. Departure towards Maniace (20 minutes journey), to see the beautiful Castle formerly belonging to Horatio Nelson, Count of Bronte (entrance EUR 3), then on to Bronte (20 minutes journey), the world capital of pistachios since ancient Roman times. Lunch is in Randazzo (30 minutes journey), a typical Sicilian five-course meal with free wine and mineral water at a typical agriturismo there (not included in price : EUR 25).

After lunch, we start our journey (around 1.5 hours) to visit the newly-opened Sicilia Fashion Village.. There, one can find most major fashion labels - such as Armani, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Nike, etc- selling all throughout the year at 30% to 70% less than the normal high street prices. Free time for shopping and/or relaxing in one of the various food/coffee outlets there. This will be followed by transfer to Catania airport to depart on AirMalta flight to Malta arriving in Malta at 23.20
