Kuhstall, Bivio, Kokodi, Mikys, Daphne’s, TeaVidal... anyone who has visited Livigno will be familiar (very, very familiar in lots of cases) with these names and lots more. These places are where a great many Maltese (of all ages) find themselves immediately after the slopes and often long into the night and the early hours of the next day.

Anyone who has been on a ski/snowboard holiday knows the fun really can begin when the sports activity stops. Livigno is packed with excellent pubs, bars, disco bars and a couple of great clubs... it is up to guests to find their favourite. Drinks are duty free everywhere and are incredibly cheap so you can definitely afford that extra round for your friends. Remember to be careful on the first night as the effect of alcohol at such a high altitude can be quite different, especially when taken in the generous measures which are normal in Livigno’s bars.

For Apres Ski try TeaVidal at the foot of the Mottolino where from about four in the afternoon the buzz is excellent... lots of dancing in your ski boots on the table to 60s and 70s pop hits which everyone sings along to. Tagliede opposite the Miramonti hotel is another venue for aprés ski where you can let your hair down to loud music at the end of a day on the pistes. Kuhstall (under the Bivio hotel) and Miky’s, where you enter on a slide, both prove irresistible to the younger element of the Maltese groups who visit Livigno, great disco music plus live bands make these two venues the place to be until about two in the morning... an added bonus is that they are both within minutes of YTC’s regular accommodation, so no need for a taxi home, just a slightly unsteady walk perhaps!

For those who really don’t want the night to end then Kokodi is the place for you... a great night-club open till the early hours with a vibrant crowd wanting the most of the sounds plus top value shots and cocktails... remember it’s cold outside and you should get a taxi home (about ten minutes) and not try to walk home. Everyone, whatever their age, can enjoy a top night out in Livigno, the atmosphere is friendly to the extreme and you are sure to make new friends... some of whom you might even remember when you see them on the slopes the next day!

For those of you who are familiar with the Echo Pub in Livigno... famous for its whole chicken meals and for being the highest brewery in Europe, there is great news! One night a week the same people will take guests up the Mottolino mountain to the Camanel di Planon Restaurant by chairlift for a super supper of roast chicken, unlimited beer, lots of fun and then back down the mountain by snowcat! A night to remember, a night not to be missed.
